How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Leg press machines come in two types: sled leg presses and plate-loaded leg presses. The sled type has a sliding carriage that the user pushes against, and the plate-loaded type has a fixed seat and a footplate with weight horns on the sides. The build sequence differs between the two. For a sled leg press, the frame angle is set during the build. Most sled leg presses have a fixed angle, but the frame legs have adjustable feet that need to be set before the machine is positioned. The sled carriage sits on rails that bolt to the frame. The rail bolt positions are pre-drilled and the rails need to be parallel before the carriage is loaded. A rail that is out of parallel with the other rail will cause the sled to rack when pushed. For a plate-loaded leg press, the main build steps are the frame, the seat, and the footplate assembly. The frame goes up first. The seat back angle may be fixed or adjustable; if adjustable, the angle pin needs to be confirmed before the seat is used under load. The footplate arm connects to the frame at a pivot point and needs the pivot bolt confirmed tight before use. Weight horns on a plate-loaded leg press are the pegs on the footplate arm that carry the weight plates. The horns need to be confirmed tight before any plates are loaded. A horn that works loose under load will allow the plates to shift, which unbalances the footplate. Safety catches on both types of leg press need to be confirmed engaging at the correct height before any loaded reps are performed.
