How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Bedside tables are a short assembly but they have a detail that trips most people up. The drawer runner on a bedside table has the same left-right height requirement as any other drawer unit, and on a nightstand with a single 200mm drawer, the tolerance is tighter because the drawer is short enough that a small height difference at the back produces an obvious tilt when the drawer is open. Tables with a cable tidy slot need attention before the top panel goes on. Most designs route a short channel through the back panel for power leads, and the grommet or cover for that channel has to be fitted before the top is tightened, because the channel sits directly under the top and is blocked once it is in place. Getting the grommet seated after the top is on means taking the top back off. On designs with a door rather than a drawer, the hinge is usually a soft-close cabinet hinge. These have the same three-axis adjustment as full-size cabinet hinges and the adjustment screw positions are the same. The door should swing open to at least 90 degrees clear of the carcass side, and the gap at the top and bottom of the door should be even. Whether it is a city apartment or a house in the Eastern Suburbs or Inner West, the access situation is part of the job. We photograph the completed job before we leave.
