Bedroom furniture assembly follows a room order: the bed frame goes together first, because it is the largest piece and sets the position of everything else. Once the bed frame is in position, the wardrobe is built against the wall, and smaller pieces fill in around both.
Bed frames have a slat sequence that matters. The centre support leg on a queen or king frame needs to be confirmed touching the floor before the slats are loaded with the weight of a mattress. A centre leg that is too short leaves the slats unsupported at the centre, which causes them to flex under load.
Wardrobes need to be squared before the back panel is fixed. The back panel fixes the square and cannot be adjusted once it is in. Sliding doors are set after the carcass is confirmed square. Hinged doors are hung after the carcass is confirmed level. Both door types need adjustment after hanging to confirm the gap is even across the top and sides.
Dressers and bedside tables follow the standard carcass sequence: base, sides, back, top. Drawer runners are set parallel before the drawer is inserted. A runner that is not parallel to its opposite will cause the drawer to rack, moving sideways rather than straight in and out.
