How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

A dresser looks like a simple build until you open the drawers. The runners are the critical detail. Each drawer runner has a left side and a right side, and both sides of each pair need to be at exactly the same height above the base of the drawer opening. A 2mm difference across the width of the runner causes the drawer to bind at the back corner when it is three-quarters open, which is where most drawers spend most of their time. Soft-close runners have an additional step that does not appear in every instruction set. The soft-close mechanism is a clip on the runner that needs to engage a catch on the underside of the drawer box. If the clip position is wrong, the soft-close does not engage and the drawer slams. Adjusting the runner height is possible after the drawer is fitted, but it requires pulling the drawer out completely and resetting the clip position, which is easier to do right the first time. Dressers with an attached mirror use a bracket system that mounts to the back of the top panel. The bracket needs to be centred on the panel before the top is tightened, or the mirror sits off-centre. Most mirror brackets also have a forward tilt adjustment that should be set before the mirror is hung because access to the locking bolt is blocked by the mirror itself once it is up.
