How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Children's bookcases are built to the same sequence as adult bookcases but the anti-tip step is more critical because of how a child interacts with the unit. Most children's bookcases include an anti-tip strap or wall bracket that attaches to the back of the top panel. The bracket goes in before the unit is placed against the wall, not after, because the bracket bolt positions may be covered by the wall once the unit is in position. The back panel on a children's bookcase is the element that keeps the unit square and prevents the carcass from racking. Most children's bookcases use a thinner back panel than the sides, which means the panel needs to be in the groove on all four sides, not just resting against the groove edge. A back panel that is not fully seated will allow the carcass to rack under the uneven load of a mix of toys and books. Shelf pins on children's bookcases are the same as on adult units but the shelf positions are more often adjusted. Most designs use a 32mm hole-row system that allows shelves to be repositioned in 32mm increments. The pins need to be at the same row on both sides; a 2mm difference across a 400mm shelf shows up as a tilt. If the building has a service lift that requires booking, include that detail when you request a quote. Completion photos are taken as part of every booking.
