How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Bookshelves and bookcases have one step most people skip, and it creates a problem that only shows up under load. The back panel is the structural element that keeps the unit square. Leave it out or fit it loosely and the carcass racks, the shelves no longer sit level, and tall cases lean. The back panel slots into a groove and needs to be fully seated, not just resting against the groove edge, before the top cap goes on. The whole assembly needs to be checked for square before the cap is tightened, because the cap locks everything in position. Adjustable shelf pins sit in small holes in the side panels and the size of those holes varies between brands. If a pin does not seat flush, the shelf tilts under weight and eventually rocks the items sitting on it. On bookcases above about 1.2 metres, the anti-tip wall bracket supplied in the kit goes in as standard. The bracket slots onto the back of the top panel and anchors to the wall using the right fixing for the wall type, whether a timber stud, a plasterboard plug, or a masonry anchor. No specialist work is needed. Inner-city and Eastern Suburbs apartments often have original plaster-on-masonry walls. Getting a bracket into that solidly is straightforward with the right anchor but not obvious from the instruction sheet. The space is left clean, packaging stacked, before leaving.
