How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Consoles and sideboards are built around a carcass, and the carcass needs to be square before anything else goes on. The back panel is thinner than the sides, which means it can flex, and a back panel installed into a racked carcass will transfer that angle to the top and bottom when they are fitted. Getting it right means dry-fitting the carcass, checking the diagonal measurements are equal, then tightening in sequence. Drawer runners are the part that causes the most frustration on this type of unit. The left and right runners need to be at exactly the same height above the bottom of the drawer opening, and on sideboards with multiple drawers stacked above each other, each row of runners needs to be parallel to the one above and below. A 2mm height difference across a 600mm runner will make the drawer bind at the back. The usual sign is a drawer that opens smoothly for the first 100mm and then stiffens, which is the runner coming out of alignment at the back of the drawer box. Door hinges are usually adjustable after fitting, which helps when the carcass is not quite square despite best efforts. Inset doors on sideboards need more careful hinge adjustment than overlay doors because the tolerances are tighter. If you are above the ground floor with no lift, mention it when you book so timing can be planned around it. We photograph the completed job before we leave.
