How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Modular and sectional sofas arrive in more pieces than they look on the website, and the order those pieces go together matters. Most modular designs have connecting clips or dowels between sections that need to be engaged before the legs go in, because once the frame is sitting on the floor you cannot get underneath to align them. Legs are usually handed, meaning each one is threaded for a specific corner, and getting two mismatched legs can make the frame rock even after everything else is right. Some modular designs use a channel-and-hook system to join sections that looks simple but requires the pieces to be at the same height before they click together, which is harder than it sounds on carpet. The instruction diagrams often skip which way the back cushion clips face, which leads to backrests that look fine but shift when you sit on them. The orientation of each module also matters for how the fabric seams meet at the joins. Sofas in Sydney apartments add a complication: the delivery is often in sections but the hallway is not always wide enough to bring a long back section through standing upright.
