How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Office shelving units fail in the same way as domestic bookcases, but the consequences in an office are more immediate because the shelves usually carry more weight. The back panel is the structural element that stops the carcass from racking. Installed loosely or left partly in the groove, it will flex over time as the unit is loaded. The back panel needs to be fully seated in the groove on all four sides before the top cap is fitted. Adjustable shelf pins come in different diameters across manufacturers. Some pins have a stepped profile that seats in only one orientation. Getting a pin in the wrong way around means the shelf does not sit flat. On tall units with eight or more rows of shelf positions, the pin positions for each shelf need to be at the same row on both sides, or the shelf sits at an angle. Office units that stand above 1.5 metres should have the anti-tip wall bracket fitted. The bracket is usually included in the kit and slots into the top rear of the unit. The right anchor for the wall type gets it in solidly: a timber stud, a plasterboard toggle, or a masonry plug, depending on what is behind the wall surface. Flat-pack deliveries to apartments come with their own version of every problem: tight door frames, no service lift, and floors that mark easily. We photograph the completed job before we leave. A photo of the assembled piece from the store website is all we need to quote it accurately.
