Home office furniture has one practical requirement: everything needs to be at the right height before the workspace is usable. The desk height is fixed by the frame, the chair height is adjustable, and the monitor arm is set after both are confirmed.
Standing desks have a motor column with a height range set at the factory. The range needs to be confirmed across its full travel before the desk is in use. A column not run through its full range during setup may stick at one end, which requires re-setting the range with the desktop removed.
Drawer units and storage pedestals are built with the same carcass sequence as any storage unit. The drawer runner positions are confirmed parallel before each drawer is inserted. A pedestal going under a desk needs to fit under the desk frame at full height, so pedestal height and desk frame clearance are confirmed before the pedestal is pushed into position.
Office chairs are the most commonly misassembled piece of furniture in a home office. The gas cylinder, mechanism plate, and armrests each have a correct orientation that is not always clear from the instruction sheet.
