How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Shoe cabinets with tilt-out doors have a specific sequence that most people get wrong. The tilt-out mechanism uses a pivot bracket on each side of each door. The brackets need to be fitted to the carcass before the door is hung, and the height of the bracket above the floor of the shelf determines how far the door opens. Most designs have a fixed opening angle, usually 65 to 70 degrees, and the bracket position sets that angle. Getting the bracket wrong means the door either stops too early, which limits access to the shelf, or goes past its stop, which puts stress on the bracket. The carcass on a shoe cabinet needs to be level before the doors are hung. Shoe cabinets are typically positioned in a hallway, and hallway floors are often slightly out of level. Adjustable feet on the base of the carcass fix this. Both feet on the long axis need to be at the same height, and the carcass needs to be checked for level both front-to-back and side-to-side before the doors go on. Bench-top shoe cabinets that also provide seating need the top panel to be secured before the unit is used. The top panel is usually a separate piece that attaches via clips or bolts from inside the carcass, and it needs to be able to take a sitting load without flexing.
