How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

An office desk in a commercial or home-office context has the same build sequence as a domestic desk but the cable management requirement is more demanding. Most office desks have a modesty panel at the back and a cable spine or tray underneath. Both the modesty panel and the cable spine need to be positioned and secured before the desktop is bolted onto the frame. Once the desktop is on, the spine is inaccessible from above and only marginally accessible from the side. The frame on a rectangular office desk is held square by the desktop. The frame goes together first, the diagonal measurement is checked for square, and then the top is placed and bolted. A frame that is off-square when the top goes on will lock in that angle. Most office desks have an allotted position in the room and will be pushed against a wall on at least one side. An out-of-square desk will leave a triangular gap at one back corner that the cable spine magnifies. Grommet holes for cable pass-throughs need to have the grommet fitted before the desktop is bolted down. The grommet sits flush with the desktop surface on the top and clips underneath. Getting the grommet in after the top is on means laying the desk on its side. Most inner-Sydney buildings mean carrying pieces up stairs at some point. That is factored in. Photos are taken when the job is done. A product name or a screenshot is enough to get started.
