How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Reception desks have a different build sequence from a standard desk because the outer cladding panels go on last, and everything behind or beneath them needs to be set and confirmed before the cladding is fitted. The inner carcass goes up first: the main worksurface frame, the pedestals or shelf units that sit below the worksurface, and the return panel at the back of the desk. The worksurface height on a reception desk is fixed by the carcass, not adjustable after build. Confirming the height at this stage avoids finishing a build that needs to be modified. The transaction top, the raised panel at the front of the desk where visitors sign documents, bolts to the front rail of the carcass before the outer cladding goes on. The transaction top bolt heads sit inside the carcass frame and are covered by the cladding. Fitting the transaction top after the cladding is on is not possible without removing the cladding first. Cable runs on a reception desk go under the worksurface and through the base frame to a floor grommet or a wall outlet. The cable run needs to be clear and the grommet in position before the cladding goes on, because access to the base frame interior is limited once cladding is fitted. Outer cladding panels on a reception desk are usually the most visible part of the build. They attach to the inner frame with clips or bolts and need to be fitted in sequence, usually from one end to the other, to allow the joins between panels to close correctly. Photos of the finished piece are part of every job. A product name or a screenshot is enough to get started.
