How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Desk risers sit on top of an existing desk surface and elevate the monitor or screen to a better working height. They come in two types: fixed-height platforms and adjustable-height systems. Each has a different consideration for assembly. Fixed-height platforms are usually a single shelf on a frame, and the assembly sequence is straightforward: frame, shelf, monitor attachment. The monitor bracket or VESA plate, where the design includes one, needs to be set before the shelf is locked to the frame, because the bracket bolt heads sit in the frame channel and are covered by the shelf once it is on. Adjustable desk risers are more involved. Most adjustable designs use a scissor-lift mechanism or a spring-loaded arm. The spring tension in a spring-arm design is set by a dial or a bolt inside the arm housing, and it needs to be set before the desk riser is placed on the surface because the spring carries the weight of the monitor and needs to be pre-tensioned. Too little tension and the arm sinks; too much and the arm rises when the monitor is removed. Keyboard tray add-ons that clip to the front of the riser need to be at the right height relative to the monitor platform. The tray height on most designs is set by a pin or bolt in the front column of the riser. Setting this before the riser is on the desk is easier than adjusting it with the monitor in place.
