How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Office bookcases follow the same basic sequence as a home bookcase, but they are often taller and heavier, and the shelf load in an office context is usually higher than domestic use. The carcass goes up in the same order: sides, top, base, and back panel. The back panel squares the carcass and needs to be in place before any shelves are fitted. On a tall office bookcase, the back panel is usually in two sections. Both sections need to be in before the unit is stood upright, because the panel sections overlap at the centre and the overlap needs to be flush before the unit is under load. Adjustable shelf pins in office bookcases are usually metal pegs that press into holes drilled in the side panels. The holes are spaced at 32mm intervals on most designs. All four pins for each shelf need to be at the same height, and the front pair and rear pair need to be at the same depth. A pin that is slightly out of line will cause the shelf to rock under load. Confirming all pins before the shelves are placed saves adjustment later. Anti-tip brackets for tall office bookcases attach to the rear of the top panel and to the wall stud behind the unit. The bracket needs to be fitted and the wall anchor confirmed before the unit is loaded. A fully loaded office bookcase is heavy enough that an unanchored unit is a significant safety issue. Work comes from apartments in the inner city, terrace houses in the Inner West and houses across the Eastern Suburbs. A photo of the assembled piece from the store website is all we need to quote it accurately.
