How we price it
The exact price depends on your specific model, since two items that look similar can be very different to build. The most accurate way is to send a photo of the finished item from the store website, or its model reference, when you request your quote. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so several items together in one visit is usually the best value.

Portable BBQs are smaller than trolley-mounted units but still have a specific assembly sequence for the burner bracket, grate, and leg system. The leg system goes on first. Most portable BBQs have fold-out legs that extend from the body of the firebox or from a separate base plate. The legs need to be fully extended and confirmed locked at full extension before the unit is used. A leg that is only partially extended will fold under load. On designs with a separate base plate, the firebox bolts to the base plate at a fixed point before the legs are extended. The burner bracket sits inside the firebox body and positions the burner over the flame tamer. The bracket needs to be fully seated in the bracket slots before the flame tamer is placed. A bracket that is canted will position the burner off-centre relative to the flame tamer, which causes uneven heat distribution across the grate. The flame tamer sits on the bracket above the burner. It needs to be seated flat across both bracket rails. A flame tamer that is resting on one rail and bridging the other will rock when the grate is loaded. The grill grate sits on top of the flame tamer on most portable designs. Confirming the grate is level and not rocking before closing the lid is the final check. The lid hinge on a portable BBQ with a lid clips or bolts to the rear of the firebox body. The hinge clip needs to be confirmed engaged before the lid is lifted.
