Commercial gym fit-out assembly starts with the heavy structural equipment: squat racks, power racks and cable machines. These units are anchored to the floor or wall before any weight is loaded onto them. The bolt pattern for a rack floor anchor is confirmed against the floor structure before the anchor is driven. A rack that is not anchored can move under load.
Studio and PT fit-outs often involve wall mirrors and rubber flooring in addition to equipment. Wall mirrors are installed plumb before any equipment is placed in front of them. Rubber flooring needs to be laid flat before any equipment goes on top, because a buckled floor section under a machine base will transmit movement into the machine during use.
Building and apartment gym fit-outs are delivered into a space where access can be tight. Equipment is carried in and assembled in the room, working from the walls inward. The build order is confirmed before any piece is started, so that a large piece assembled early does not block access to a wall anchor needed later.
