Hinged-door wardrobe assembly starts with the carcass. The base, sides, and top are assembled and confirmed square before the back panel is fixed. The back panel is what locks the square. A carcass assembled and then found to be out of square after the back panel is on cannot be corrected without removing the back panel.
Doors are hung after the carcass is confirmed level. The hinge arm position on the door is fixed, but the hinge cup position on the carcass side is adjustable in three dimensions: depth, height, and lateral. Getting all three adjustments right on the first hinge before moving to the second hinge is faster than fitting both hinges and then correcting both.
The door gap confirmation is the step that takes the most time. The gap needs to be even across the top, the bottom, and between adjacent doors. An uneven gap at the top usually means the hinge height adjustment is different on adjacent doors. An uneven gap between doors usually means the lateral adjustment is different. Both are corrected at the hinge, not by repositioning the door.
Drawers in a combination wardrobe are fitted after the doors are confirmed. The drawer runner sequence is the same as any drawer unit: both runners parallel before the drawer is inserted.
