Office fitout assembly is a sequencing job as much as an assembly job. The floor plan determines the build order: fixed wall elements first, workstation runs second, freestanding furniture last. A workstation run positioned before wall elements are confirmed will be in the wrong place if the wall element position changes.
Workstation frames are assembled and confirmed level before any tops are placed. All frames in a run are positioned in their planned layout before any joining bolts are driven. Tightening joining bolts before all frames are positioned locks the joined positions and makes adjusting the remaining frames harder. Each frame is confirmed level before the next frame is joined.
Power modules are placed before tops go on. The power module cut-out in the desktop needs to align with the power spine on the frame. Confirming the module position before the top is placed means the top can go on once. A power module discovered to be misaligned after the top is on requires removing the top to correct it.
Privacy screens attach to the workstation surface or the central spine after tops are confirmed. The screen clip needs to be confirmed engaging before the screen is released. A screen that is only partially locked will tilt toward the unclipped side. All screens are confirmed locked before leaving the workstation. Access details get sorted before the day.
