Outdoor dining furniture has one challenge that indoor furniture does not: the ground is rarely level. A dining table on a patio, a deck, or a garden surface needs to be levelled using adjustable feet in its final position. Setting the feet before the table is in its final position means re-setting them after the table is moved.
Extending outdoor tables have a mechanism that determines whether the extension leaves sit flush with the fixed surface. The mechanism track needs to be confirmed aligned before the leaves are tested. An outdoor table that has a track out of alignment will develop a step between the fixed and extension surfaces over time as the surfaces expand and contract with temperature.
Outdoor chairs are usually lighter than indoor dining chairs and tip more easily on an uneven surface. On a set of chairs for a patio or deck, confirming all chairs sit on their full footprint before any are used avoids discovering one that rocks when someone sits in it.
