Flat-pack sauna assembly is a panel-joining job where alignment at each step determines whether the next step is achievable. A wall panel that is not square with its neighbour will leave a gap at the join that is impossible to close once the roof panels are on. The alignment check at each panel join is the most important step in a sauna build.
Infrared saunas have heating panels mounted inside each wall. The heating panel cable needs to be routed through the wall before the inner panel face is fitted. A cable that is not routed before the inner panel is placed cannot be routed without removing the inner panel. The cable routing diagram is specific to the model and needs to be followed before each panel face is placed.
Traditional saunas have a heater that sits inside the cabin. The heater position is set before bench levels are confirmed, because the heater determines the clearance required from the lower bench. A heater placed without checking bench clearance may need to be moved when the benches are placed.
Barrel saunas need a level base before any stave is placed. A base that is not level will cause the stave ring to be out of round when tightened.
