How we price it
Prices are based on the items being assembled and are returned the same day when photos are included with the quote request. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so booking several items together in one visit gives the best value.
Alexandria is a suburb in transition, with a significant portion of its housing stock coming from the conversion of former industrial buildings into residential apartments. Warehouse conversions are the defining housing type in parts of the suburb: high ceilings, sealed hard floors, open floor plans and freight lifts that were designed to move goods rather than furniture. These buildings have access characteristics that differ from both the standard residential block and the terrace house, with large lift carriages and wide corridors that in most cases make moving full-size flat panels very manageable.
The residents of the warehouse apartments tend to be design-conscious, and the furniture orders reflect it. Pieces from Freedom, Temple & Webster and Nick Scali come through alongside IKEA, and the orders often include items that are larger than average for an inner-city apartment: dining tables that seat eight, large bookshelves and sideboards used as statement pieces, PAX wardrobes with mirrored doors for bedroom storage, and outdoor lounge combinations for courtyard spaces. KALLAX shelving is popular as a room divider in the open-plan spaces where a low unit between the living area and the dining space changes the feel of the room without closing it off.
The newer apartment buildings in the suburb, particularly those closer to the Green Square precinct, have standard residential lift and corridor characteristics. Access in these buildings is straightforward, similar to the Zetland and Waterloo apartment stock nearby. Hard sealed floors appear throughout both the warehouse conversions and many of the newer builds, and floor protection is a standard consideration on every job. The suburb is close enough to the CBD that parking restrictions apply on most streets during business hours, and confirming a basement goods entry or loading zone before a larger job saves complications on the day.
