Outdoor lounge furniture assembly starts with the frame of each piece. The frame is confirmed square and level before any cushion rails or fabric components are attached. On a modular sofa, each module is built and confirmed before the modules are joined. The joining bolts between modules need to be at full torque before the setting is used.
Modular outdoor sofas often have a chaise module or a corner module that connects to a straight module. The connection bracket between modules needs to be confirmed engaging before the modules are pushed together. A bracket that is not fully engaged will allow the modules to separate when someone sits at the join.
Outdoor daybeds are built in the same sequence as a bed frame: end panels first, sides second, base slats or base panel third. The base needs to be confirmed level before any mattress is placed. A daybed base that is not level will cause the mattress to slide toward the low side.
Hanging chairs attach to a freestanding frame or to a ceiling hook. On a freestanding frame, the frame needs to be confirmed stable before the chair is attached. The weight of the hanging chair at one end of the frame loads the frame unevenly. Confirming the frame is stable before attaching the chair avoids it tipping when first loaded.
