How we price it
Prices are based on the items being assembled and are returned the same day when photos are included with the quote request. A $120 minimum applies per visit, so booking several items together in one visit gives the best value.
Surry Hills is one of Sydney's densest inner-city suburbs, with a housing stock almost entirely composed of terrace houses and small apartment buildings. The terrace format here is tight: narrower frontages, shorter hallways and steep staircases in the older stock, particularly in the streets closest to the CBD. The suburb attracts a mix of creative industry workers, professionals and long-term residents, and the furniture orders reflect both the compact nature of the housing and the considered aesthetic of the residents. Pieces that are genuinely well made, or that solve a specific space problem, are the typical order rather than placeholder furniture.
Home office set-ups are among the most ordered single items from this suburb. ALEX drawer towers, LINNMON desk tops on adjustable legs, MICKE compact desks and KALLAX shelving or a BILLY bookcase configured around a desk are consistent orders from apartments and terrace rooms that have been converted into study spaces. Wardrobe systems, PAX with sliding doors in particular, are ordered for bedrooms where a hinged door would eat too much of the remaining floor.
The terrace houses across Surry Hills have the narrow corridor and staircase characteristics that require thinking about which pieces can be moved through in one section and which need to be carried up and assembled in-room. For apartment buildings, lift access varies: the newer converted warehouse apartments in parts of the suburb have freight lifts that handle large panels, while the purpose-built residential blocks have standard lift dimensions. Parking on most streets requires timing around clearway or metered restrictions, and a clear plan for the delivery vehicle helps on larger jobs.
